Fake Tan Removal on Fabric - Magic Stain Remover Review

Published on Updated on MAINTENANCE by Ryan Herrera

How do you get fake tan out of fabric?

Have you ever noticed the uneven shades on your favourite wooden table or leather couch, caused by sun exposure and spills from self-tanners? or the lingering imprints left by hastily forgotten applications? In the rush of our daily lives, it's not uncommon for both girls and guys to apply self-tanner, only to be caught in the lengthy drying process—often advised to wait overnight. Amidst this waiting game, it's all too easy to overlook the still-wet tanner, inadvertently transferring it onto unsuspecting fabrics and surfaces. Given the potent staining properties of self-tanners, they can leave significant marks on fabrics. Tanning stains on furniture can be as persistent as those on our skin. But don't worry, we've developed a straightforward and effective guide to shield your valued items from both the sun's rays and self-tanner spills. Our latest care guide delves into the best practices for preventing and addressing sun-induced discolouration and fake tan stains on a variety of furniture materials.

Whether your furniture is leather, fabric, or wood, we have the expert knowledge to keep it looking evenly toned and vibrant. Follow our professional advice to keep your furnishings as pristine as the day you brought them home.

Important: Always refer to the furniture's care and maintenance instructions before attempting any cleaning. Test the Magic Solvent-Power Stain Remover on a hidden area of the furniture fabric to ensure colourfastness and material compatibility.

How to use Magic Stain Remover

  1. Preparation: Shake the bottle well. Unlock the sprayer by pressing the button located above the bottle's neck.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Gently blot the stained area with a clean, dry cloth to remove any excess residue. Avoid rubbing to prevent the stain from spreading.
  3. Application: Spray Magic Solvent-Power Stain Remover directly onto the stain from a distance of 6 inches, ensuring even coverage.
  4. Treatment: Use a soft brush or cloth to lightly work the solution into the fabric. If the stain persists, apply additional solution as needed. Allow the solution to act on the stain for 1-5 minutes. For more stubborn stains, a wait of up to 10 minutes may be necessary.
  5. Rinsing: Dampen a clean cloth or sponge with water and gently blot the treated area to remove the stain and any remaining solution. The stain may appear to spread initially; continue blotting to lift the stain out of the fabric.
  6. Post-Cleaning: If the fabric is water-safe, use a clean, damp cloth to rinse the area thoroughly, removing any residue from the cleaning solution. Pat the cleaned area with a dry cloth and allow it to air-dry completely. Avoid using heat or direct sunlight to speed up the drying process.
  7. Repeat if Necessary: If the stain remains, repeat the application and blotting process until the stain is fully removed.

Please note that immediate treatment of stains increases the likelihood of complete removal. If a stain is left untreated and becomes set, it may require multiple treatments over time to lighten and minimize its appearance. Unlike garments, most furniture cannot be "washed" in the traditional sense, so it's crucial to address stains promptly and follow fabric-specific guidelines for care and cleaning.
